This verse has been running through my head all morning.
Last night Southwest Missouri was hit by severe weather. The communities of Lebanon, Buffalo and Branson are now faced with cleaning up debris and rebuilding the damaged areas. There is a lot of work ahead for these communities.
Branson is a place where I grew in many ways, where I built relationships, where I felt at home for most of the last five years.
It’s a horrible feeling to see the destruction of the Taco Bell that satisfied many of my late night cravings and the Branson Mall where I wasted many Sunday afternoons listening to Elvis and Johnny Cash impersonators.
But, this morning is one of the most peaceful mornings I’ve seen in quite awhile. The sun is shining bright, birds are chirping, and there’s just a slight breeze. And it’s more than just the weather. People are stepping forward to help friends and neighbors clean up. Families are expressing thankfulness that their loved ones are safe.
It’s a wonderful reminder that God’s mercies never end; He is faithful.
